This event will bring the experience of left municipal governance to the European Parliament, exploring how cities and towns can improve people’s living standards through inclusive, democratic and socially just policies. Mayors, former mayors and local councillors from Greece, Denmark and the Basque Country will share experiences of addressing challenges such as housing, migration and inclusion, public services, urban planning and the ecological transition.

Through an interactive roundtable, the discussion will compare local experiences, highlight concrete policies and approaches, and examine how municipalities can use their political leadership and available tools to respond to common challenges. It will provide a space to exchange practices, strengthen cooperation between progressive local representatives and contribute to a shared vision for municipal governance across Europe.
