Dear Mr. President of the Greek Parliament,

The revelations regarding the close and secret relations of the General Secretary of the Government with the criminal neo-nazi organization of Golden Dawn raise major issues for democracy and stability.

Also the remarks of Mr Baltakos concerning plans of manipulation of justice raise a major institutional issue.

The prime minister cannot continue hiding after all these revelations. Apart from demanding the resignation of Mr Baltakos and the Ministers of Justice and Public Order the least that the prime minister could have done was to give explanations in the Parliament and the people.

However, he has not done any of that. He did not even expel Mr Baltakos. On the contrary, he gave him space to resign. This stance of the prime-minister manifests his guilt.

Obviously, the official narration that the prime minister’s close assistant and powerful government’s link Mr Baltakos was operating without the knowledge of the prime minister is absolutely not persuasive.

Also, it is apparent that the ideological close relations of parts of the government with the extreme right wing pose a serious danger for democracy. Samara’s government proved to be dangerous and cannot continue to handle the country’s destiny.

As you know, from the first moment after the murder of Pavlos Fyssas from a Golden Dawn member, an event that raised a major threat for the democratic stability, I requested an urgent discussion in the Parliament concerning the whole set of issues and the consequences of this unprecedented situation in the parliamentary history.

This discussion has never taken place. Today I am obliged to submit the request again in order that all parts will present their positions to the people.

Firstly the prime minister is obliged to give explanations. But also the head of PASOK should justify his position to support consciously a government that retains special relations with the parastate of the extreme right wing.

According to the article 143 of the Parliament Code I request a discussion in the Parliament in the coming days and in any case as soon as possible.
