SYRIZA draws its strength from the support of a wide social and political majority that struggles for dignity and justice. The electoral victory of SYRIZA will be the beginning for a big national effort for the social salvation and reconstruction for our country. However it will be a national effort with an international impact, since our historical responsibility is to open the way for an alternative policy in Europe, transforming a state of the eurozone from a neoliberal experiment to an exemplary case of social protection and development. In this way we will prove that when the people want, when they have confidence in their powers, then they can.

The first step will be “Thessaloniki program” implementation for the overcoming of the humanitarian crisis. This program is not under negotiation. It does not generate needs for renewed borrowing and will not be an issue on the discussion table.

On this commitment base SYRIZA will seek to gather the largest possible forces within the people so that the majority in the new parliament will be gained and thus proceed to the realization of the program. In any case, we will pursue wide consent in the framework of this program.

We are fully aware that the left is once more at the threshold of history, taking up difficult tasks. And we are fully conscious that we are coming in order to unite and not to divide. In order to rebuild on the ruins of a devastated society. For this reason SYRIZA’s government will not be a government of one party. It will be the government of all the people.

During the crisis period we won society’s trust because we went out from the narrow frame of arrogant behavior and sectarianism. We spoke timely for a wide social and political majority, for a new governing coalition. This proposal was widely appraised in 2012 elections.

Today is the time to bring this proposal to realization, to deepen it and win. Putting in place a wide electoral cooperation on a stable programmatic base.
